Each term we are able to offer a wide range of after-school activities, including a variety of music and sports clubs. Some of these are changed each term (depending on the weather) and are selected from the following: -
Adventure Service Challenge - junior version of Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme; Drama, Creativity Club, Gardening, Art and various Sports Clubs.
Gardening club
We hold gardening club after school every Monday for children in Reception, class 1 and class 2.
The children sew their own seeds, create bug houses, weed the vegetable plot and undertake many more jobs.
We feel it is beneficial to the children and their own personal development. It helps them understand the importance of taking care of the environment around them and allows them to take ownership of their own small area of the school. The children love seeing their tiny seeds grow into fruit and vegetables which are then harvested, cooked and eaten by the children.
Adventure Service Challenge
This club is open to children year 3 and above, it is held after school every Monday.
Leading onto the Duke of Edinburgh Award (for ages 14+), ASC gives children the opportunity to learn about emergencies, health, how to be a helpful neighbour, support local people who help us and the living world. They also take part in cooking, art and craft, these activities help them build life skills. So far this year we have held many exciting events, we cooked Chinese food, invited parents to attend an Easter tea party and had a visit from Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
